Michael Adjei-Poku, M.D., M.P.H., FACC, FACP

Michael Adjei-Poku, M.D., M.P.H., FACC, FACP is a cardiologist, board certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Internal Medicine and Adult Congenital Heart Disease with over 30 years’ experience. Dr. Adjei-Poku received his medical degree from the University of Ghana Medical School in Accra, Ghana and went on to receive his Master of Public Health degree with a focus in Epidemiology from the Loma Linda University School of Public Health in Loma Linda, California. He began his residency at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana and completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at The New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens in Flushing, New York. He completed his fellowship training in cardiology at University of Utah Health Sciences Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Dr. Adjei-Poku’s professional experience and knowledge consists of a wide array of clinical practice, faculty positions, administrative experience, and teaching responsibilities. For the last five years, he taught at the University Of Utah School Of Medicine as an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine, and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Pediatrics. Before joining the University Of Utah School Of Medicine faculty, he worked as a staff cardiologist at the HCA-St. Mark’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah for 13 years, focusing on ambulatory and in-patient practice of general cardiology and adult congenital heart disease.

Dr. Adjei-Poku is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Cardiology. He is also a member of the Association of Black Cardiologists and the American Heart Association.
