Lovelace patients and visitors,

We want to assure you that we are doing everything we can to help keep our patients and their visitors safe to prevent the possible transmission of COVID-19. In an effort to keep our patients safe, we are screening all visitors, effective immediately:

All visitors will be screened for flu-like symptoms, including fever, cough, runny nose and difficulty breathing. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, you will be asked to leave.

  • Please note that visitors may NOT enter and exit patient rooms. When you leave the room, it is only to leave the hospital premises. You will not be allowed to re-enter.
  • No one will be allowed to wait in any of our hospital lobbies.
  • All visitors who are cleared must abide by these rules:

      • No one under the age of 18, unless the parent of the patient.
    • Patients who are critically ill or at end of life – only immediate family will be allowed:
      • This means that two people will be screened and required to wear a mask while visiting their loved one.
      • Additional family members may NOT wait in the hospital lobby.
    • For our patients having outpatient surgery, no visitors may wait in the lobby. Patients can be dropped off and picked up. Staff will provide updates regarding your loved-ones surgery and when to pick up him or her.

Visiting Hours

Visitation is permissible 24 hours a day in general care areas.

Visitors are asked to enter and exit the hospital through the main lobby entrance on the south side of the building. The lobby doors are locked between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. Visitation is at the discretion of the nurse and depends on the patient's condition.

Visiting hours may be limited during flu season and children under the age of 14 may not be permitted on the unit during these times.

To allow for nursing to provide shift to shift reports and assess their patients, we ask that there be no visitation or calls between the hours of 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

To benefit everyone, all visitors are required to conduct themselves in a polite and courteous manner. Any visitor who exhibits threatening behavior or the use of abusive or profane language will be requested to leave the hospital premises. Weapons of any type (including firearms) are not permitted on the hospital property.

Overnight Visitation

We understand and value that our patients may benefit if a friend or family member stays overnight in the patient's room. Visitors who wish to stay overnight with a patient should notify the nursing staff.
