Heart disease is the number one killer of Americans. In fact, it affects one in three adults and most of them don’t even know they have it. At the Heart Hospital of New Mexico, we know the best way to fight heart disease is to prevent it. That's why we offer the HeartScan Package – a powerful and comprehensive screening tool that can often detect heart disease at its earliest stages. It’s easy and right now it's available for just $149.
Who should get a HeartScan?/What’s included?
People who should get a HeartScan:
Regardless of gender you must have one of the following risk factors:
- High Blood Pressure
- Diabetes
- High Cholesterol (>200)
- Family History of Heart Disease
- Current Smoker
- Former Smoker
- Sedentary Lifestyle
- High Triglycerides (LDL >100)
- Overweight
- Known Vascular Disease

People who should not get a HeartScan:
-
People already diagnosed with heart disease.
-
People with active/current cardiac symptoms, such as chest pain.
-
People requiring angiograms. If you have already consulted with a physician who has recommended an angiogram, it is not likely that the HeartScan CT is appropriate for you. This test does not take the place of coronary angiography.
For Just $149 the HeartScan CT Package includes:
HeartScan CT
This is a sub-second CT scan that may help detect heart disease at its earliest stages. The HeartScan uses the technology of Computerized Tomography (CT) to capture images of the heart while the heart is at rest. The resulting images can allow a physician to detect coronary calcium (hardening of the arteries), an indicator of coronary artery disease.
EKG
An electrocardiogram, also called an EKG or ECG, is a simple test that detects and records the electrical activity of the heart. It is used to detect and locate the source of heart problems.
An EKG shows how fast the heart is beating. It shows the heart’s rhythm (steady or irregular). It also records the strength and timing of the electrical signals as they pass through each part of the heart.
Lipid Profile
The lipid profile includes total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol (often called good cholesterol), LDL-cholesterol (often called bad cholesterol), and triglycerides.
Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD) Screening
The ankle-brachial index (ABI) is a simple, reliable means for diagnosing Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD). Blood pressure measurements are taken at the arms and ankles.
Body Mass Index (BMI)
Body mass index assesses your body weight relative to height. It's a useful, indirect measure of body composition because it correlates highly with body fat in most people.
