CEO of Heart Hospital Named as State Regent
9/27/2000 - Albuquerque, New Mexico: Trudy Land, President and CEO of the Heart Hospital of New Mexico, has been appointed as the Regent for New Mexico by the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE); she will hold the position for a two-year term. Ms. Land holds masters degrees in business administration and social work, and has over 15 years experience in healthcare administration and management. She has previously served as CEO of Lakeland Medical Center in New Orleans, and CEO/COO at Medical Center of Plano in Texas.
The Council of Regents is the legislative body representing ACHE members. Regents have broad responsibility for programs and policies, and play a key role in the governance of the professional society. The American College of Healthcare Executives is an international professional society of nearly 30,000 healthcare executives. ACHE is known for its prestigious credentialing and educational programs and its annual Congress on Healthcare Management. ACHE is also known for its publications, the Journal of Healthcare Management, and Healthcare Executive, as well as ground-breaking research and career development and public policy programs. The goal of ACHE is to improve the health status of society by advancing healthcare leadership and management excellence.
Ms. Land came to New Mexico two years ago to direct the development and operations of the Heart Hospital of New Mexico in Albuquerque, an acute-care facility specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease.
